ABOUT LISA'S DOLLS !
Hi, my name is lisa,
I've been making fabric dolls for almost 9 years in Lyon, France.
Passionate about manual and creative work, crafts and art, I learned to sew with my Grandmother who gave me her passion for sewing and the love for hard work.
You will find in my work and my dolls what drives me: passion, seriousness, poetry and a touch of perfectionism.
My dolls
My dolls are available in three sizes: large 32cm dolls, classic 28cm dolls and finally small 20cm dolls.
The bodies of my dolls are made from a high quality, professional and specific textile for the manufacture of dolls, 100% cotton from the Dutch brand The Meaningful Craft.
The doll's body is filled with hypoallergenic wadding.
The proportions of the body are close to reality. Wires are inserted in the hands so that the limbs are more mobile and the doll can hold an accessory (bouquet of flowers, teddy bear...).
The doll's head is movable, with the ability to tilt, raise and turn in different directions.
The doll only has eyes and red cheeks on her face. So very frequently I am asked the question in order to know why my dolls have neither nose nor mouth?
there is a "philosophical" explanation beyond an aesthetic bias: the absence of a mouth and a nose allows the doll not to express a fixed emotion but on the contrary to reflect the mood of its owner. You will be able to project your mood, or what you would like this doll to feel or convey: joy, sadness, melancholy, hope...
The doll's hair can be synthetic or natural (goat or sheep).
natural hair is washed, disinfected, dyed and sewn by hand by a specialized craftswoman.
The doll's clothes are made from organic cotton textiles that I select.
In most cases, for my dolls, I use limited collection fabrics (fabrics whose print pattern has first been painted in watercolor by an artist, after which his work is copied and printed on fabric using a special instrument).
I order these textiles in limited quantities in order to make unique dolls, each doll is therefore unique and original. I make a single copy of each doll and do not make copies.
The shoes are handmade by an artisan specializing in the production of shoes for dolls, in suede material and strictly to order.
My dolls are therefore entirely handmade, I make the body and the clothes, I sew the hats and scarves and the shoes are also handmade by a specialized craftsman.
Each copy is unique, you will have a personal doll that no one else will have.
The dolls are wrapped in tissue paper and sent in a beautiful gift box.
